1. Sign in

Go to brewgravity.com. There are three ways in:

Email and password

Sign up, then click the verification link we email you. Verification is required before the account becomes usable.

Magic link

We email you a one-time sign-in link. It expires five minutes after it is sent.

Google

Sign in with a Google account. If you already have an email account on the same address, the two are linked automatically.
No verification email? Check spam, then try the magic link instead — it proves the same thing and skips the password entirely.

2. Get a recipe in

Two options, and there is no wrong one.
If you have been brewing on Brewer’s Friend, Brewfather, BeerSmith, or anything else that exports BeerXML or BeerJSON, go to Import and drop the files in. Recipes, ingredients, and mash steps all come across.Start with Importing from Brewer’s Friend, or the import overview for everything else.

3. Dial in the numbers

Open the recipe and watch the stats as you add ingredients: The two fields that most often make an imported recipe’s numbers look wrong are efficiency and batch size — those describe your brewhouse, not the recipe. Set them once per recipe and the rest falls into place.

4. Start a brew day

From a recipe, press Brew. Brewgravity creates a brew session, dates it today, and generates a full brew day checklist — gather ingredients, heat strike water, mash in, vorlauf, sparge, boil, chill, pitch, clean up — that you tick off as you go. Steps can carry timers, so the mash rest and the 60-minute boil count themselves down. See Brew sessions.

5. Log the fermentation

When the wort is chilled, enter your measured OG and press Start Fermentation. From there the Fermentation tab is where the session lives: add readings for gravity, temperature, pH, volume, and notes, and Brewgravity charts them over time. When it is done, enter your final gravity and press Complete to get measured ABV, real attenuation, and how many days it actually took. See Fermentation.
